“Physical Activity, Research and Public Health” – a transdisciplinary exchange on status quo and development perspectives

February, 8th 2022, 10am – 5:15pm

The first roots of “sport and public health” in sports science and health sciences go back to the 1980s of the 20th century. Despite some significant successes for sports science – with a stronger focus on public health in research and practice – there has been little discussion about how the opportunities and resources available in the field of public health have been used within sports science in the scientific and practical application context since then. The dvs expert workshop aims to enable a transdisciplinary exchange of experiences with stakeholders from sports science, health sciences and public health, including politics and practice, regarding the status quo and development perspectives of “Physical Activity, Research and Public Health.”

Further information and the registration to the event can be found here.

Workshop of the Young Researcher Network of “Capital4Health”

The Young Researcher Network of the Capital4Health research network will hold a workshop from 10 to 12 July 2019 to prepare the special issue “Cooperative planning in motion-related health promotion”. Interested young scientists, whether internal or external, are requested to contact Dr. Helmut Strobl of the University of Bayreuth (Mail: helmut.strobl@uni-bayreuth.de, Phone: +49 (0)921 / 55-3463) by Tuesday, June 12, 2019 at the latest.

First Network Meeting “Movement-Related Health Competence”

In recent years, several research projects have devoted themselves to the topic of “Movement-Related Health Competence”. Unfortunately, however, there has hardly been any cross-location exchange between researchers and stakeholders on this topic to date. For this reason, on February 28 and March 1, 2019, the Chair of the “Physical Activity and Health“ Division at the Department of Sport Science and Sport at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen organised a first network meeting on the topic of “Physical Activity-Related Health Competence”. The subject of this meeting were lectures, discussions and simple exchange around the topic BGK. Due to the extensive positive feedback, this was probably not the last meeting of this kind …
