KAB-Mon

KAB-Mon

KAB-Mon is a project of the State of Berlin‘s Senate Department for Science, Health, Care and Equality, conducted in collaboration with the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology (BIPS) and FAU‘s Department of Sport Science and Sport (DSS). The project supports the reporting of health prevention indicators by the federal states, which in turn informs the National Prevention Report. To address existing data gaps, a working group affiliated with the Conference of Health Ministers of the Federal States has proposed the development of further indicators.

KAB-Mon was tasked with developing and testing a methodology for systematic data collection for the indicators related to physical activity. The proposed physical activity indicators are (a) the proportion of distances traveled per mode of transport (modal split), (b) walkability, (c) bikeability, and (d) physical activity promotion as part of the federal state’s policies for child care facilities.

At FAU, the divisions of Public Health and Physical Activity (Prof. Dr. Anne Reimers) and Physical Activity and Health (Prof. Dr. Klaus Pfeifer) are involved in KAB-Mon. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Health within the funding priority “Structural Strengthening and Further Development of the Public Health Service”.

Project Time: 05/2023 – 04/2026
Project Lead (FAU): Prof. Dr. Anne Reimers
Project Staff (FAU): PD Dr. Peter Gelius, PD Dr. Karim Abu-Omar, Dr. Sven Messing, Dr. Maike Till, Clara Tristram
