Promotion of physical activity with Hengstenberg

Promotion of physical activity with Hengstenberg/Pikler exercise materials

The Nuremberg Health Office and the Bavarian Community Accident Insurance Association, as well as other cooperation partners, provide exercise materials based on the Elfriede Hengstenberg concept in various Nuremberg day-care centres. By using the materials and implementing the concept, the children receive movement stimuli and movement tasks that encourage them to discover and try out new movement possibilities. In addition, the educators are trained according to the educational concept of E. Hengstenberg and implement it in their facilities.

Period: 2007-2010
Project manager: Prof. Dr. Klaus Pfeifer
Project staff: Manuela Rothe M.A.
Cooperation partners: Health Office Nuremberg, The Active Children’s Workshop gGmbH, Bavarian Association for Community Accident Insurance, Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for Health Services and Welfare, Techniker Krankenkasse
